This album compiles the songs from the third Cut the Shit recording party. Recorded a year after the previous comp and months after the shuttering of 131 Washington, this was the first one organized in a new location. This time our makeshift studio was set up in a living room of an apartment that had been a shared practice space for a number of bands. All the amps (broken and functional) were moved out of the space and, with it's hard wood floors and drop tile ceilings, it ended up being a really decent acoustic space for recording live bands.
It was a warm fall day and bands moved in and out without a hitch. Everything went ahead of schedule, many bands tracking their songs in just a take or two. Ten songs by ten bands tracked in less than ten hours. Next door a barbecue full of sketchy characters raged on with talk of sex parties, piss, farts, and dick measuring drifting over into the yard as the musicians drank and smoked and listened through the windows at whoever was tracking.
I hope you enjoy the result. A bunch of rad songs recorded by a bunch of great Maine bands and a little sonic weirdness at the end - Mike
